Migrant Agricultural Workers Support Campaign, Summer 2008

near st-reminear st-remiDuring the summer there will be a new Solidarity Across Borders campaign to break the isolation of migrant workers who work on the farms outside of Montreal. Part of this outreach will be organized through regional bike tours. This campaign will include workshops on the basics of migrant realities in Canada, special training sessions to prepare for the bike tours and outreach preparation, focusing on the plight of migrant workers.

We invite you to join us during our tours (on bikes, but with definite arrangements for alternative transport for those with reduced mobility) to meet the workers and to show solidarity. We especially seek people who speak Spanish.

Each month, Solidarity Across Borders hosts a community dinner, where we get together to eat, socialize, and share our stories of struggle and resistance. Our dinners also provide updates about the ongoing organizing in the SAB network (including ongoing support work, and the upcoming Status for All National Day of Action, as part of Mayworks!).

Solidarity Across Borders is a Montreal-based network engaged in the struggle for justice and dignity of immigrants and refugees. We are comprised of migrants, immigrants, refugees and allies, and come together in support of our main demands: the regularization of all non-status people (Status for All!), an end to deportations and detentions, and the abolition of security certificates.

SAB LogoSince the "No One Is Illegal March on Ottawa" in June 2005, Solidarity Across Borders has continued to be active in support of our main demands: the regularization of all non-status people; an end to deportations and detentions; and, the abolition of security certificates. We've also organized in support of the demands and campaigns of our allies.

Below, we've included links to a selection of photo essays of activities organized and/or supported by Solidarity Across Borders since June 2005. They provide a glimpse of our various organizing and support activities in the past three years.
