THIS WEEK: Write a letter to Marois, Malavoy and De Courcy

Support the Education For All Campaign

Write a letter to Marois, Malavoy and De Courcy this week!

On January 30, 2013, the Collectif Éducation sans frontières wrote a letter to Pauline Marois, Marie Malavoy and Diane De Courcy. Now, more than month later, we have still not received a reply. We encourage the supporters of Solidarity Across Borders and the Collectif éducation sans frontières to write their own letters THIS WEEK. More details below about what you can do. For updates about the Collectif éducation sans frontières, please visit: http://www.solidarityacrossborders.org/en/education-across-borders-collective

Last month, members of the Collectif éducation sans frontières sent an open letter to Quebec Premier Pauline Marois, Education Minister Marie Malavoy and Immigration Minister Diane De Courcy. The goal of our letter is to get a clear and timely response from the Quebec government about the situation of non-status children and access to school in Quebec. The immediate goal of the Education For All campaign is to ensure that all required administrative and legal changes necessary in order for non-status children to have access to school are made as soon as possible, but definitely in time to the beginning of the school year in August/September 2013.

You can read the open letter here: http://www.solidarityacrossborders.org/en/lettre-ouverte-a-pauline-marois-marie-malavoy-et-diane-de-courcy

The Collectif Éducation sans frontières is encouraging everyone who supports the rights of all children, including non-status children, to have barrier-free access to Quebec public schools to also write Mesdames Marois, Malavoy and De Courcy. You can use our open letter as the basis to write your own personal letter to the three Ministers who have the power to make the necessary changes now. Our website has other background documents, and is accessible here: http://www.solidarityacrossborders.org/fr/education-across-borders-collective

We’ve included the e-mails, addresses and fax numbers of the three ministers below. If you are writing a letter, please cc a copy to us at solidaritesansfrontieres@gmail.com  (please note that while Mesdames Malavoy and De Courcy can be contacted directly by e-mail, you need to use the online form linked below to write to Madame Marois online). If more convenient for you, you can also send a fax, or use regular post.

Again, we strongly encourage all allies and supporters of Solidarity Across Borders and the Education for All campaign to write a letter this week (and to let us know they sent a letter by e-mailing us at solidaritesansfrontieres@gmail.com). We want to ensure that at least 100 different people have been in touch with Quebec government about this important issue.

Thank you for your support!
